Android 4.4 Kitkat

If you’re reading the title and thinking “Android 4.4 KitKat? That’s clever, but what’s the real name?”, brace yourself. In case you hadn’t heard yet, Google officially announced today that the next version of Android, version 4.4, will be called KitKat. Seriously. While this may seem like a promotional deal, El Goog claims that neither side is paying for the new name, and it is all to do something “fun and unexpected” and unexpected it is. Many had assumed that the next version of Android would take on the name of Key Lime Pie. As a move to get the most publicity out of it as possible, Nestle, the company behind the famous KitKat candy bar, released a video today promoting “the future of confectionery” where it promotes KitKat as a product, even talking about the dimensions being 10 mm thick, one finger long, and four fingers wide.
