Galaxy Tab 3 Lite tablet announced

The smartphone giant, Samsung recently announced the launch of new device in their Galaxy Tab range, the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite. As the name says it is the lighter version of Galaxy Tab 3.



The device has many of the features match with Galaxy Tab 3 while others are removed. Though the pricing is not yet officially revealed yet but it is going to be for the mid-price range segment with a more portable and slimmer design.

Tab 3 Lite boasts a WSVGA 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024x600 pixel. It is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM. There are no signs of front camera so video calling would be difficult, but it has a rear facing 2 megapixel camera. There would be inbuilt memory of 8GB with expandable memory upto 32GB with MicroSD slot.

The battery is slightly weaker, 3,600 mAh as compared to that of Tab 3 which has 4,000 mAh battery. The device would be running on Android 4.2 (Jellybean). Also the phone supports 3G with a sim slot.

Xolo to launch world's fastest 7-inch tablet - Xolo Play Tegra Note

Indian smartphone company Xolo is ready to launch the world's fastest 7-inch android tablet as stated by them, its given the name "Xolo Play Tegra Note". The tablet comes with the price tag of Rs.17,999 on the official website.



The tablet as quoted has a 7-inch HD IPS display. The device is powered by Nvidia's Tegra 4 (4+1) core Cortex-A15 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz. The tablet has Nvidia 72-core GeForce GPU for incredibly realistic and powerful graphics. The screen has a resolution of 800 x 1280 with 216 PPI. It is also equipped with a 5 megapixel primary back facing camera which is capable of HDR captures and a front facing 0.3 megapixel camera for video chat.



The device comes with Nvidia DirectStylus technology and has a stylus equipped with it. It has 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal memory and also the device has a Micro HDMI slot for direct connectivity. The OS is Android 4.2.2 (planned to upgrade) . Xolo Play Tegra Note also has an incredible surround sound system built to amplify your music down to the last beat. Powered by the Nvidia PureAudio technology for the ultimate “true” stereo experience.

Lumia 525 announced

Nokia finally on Wednesday announced the release of Lumia 525 , a low budget Windows 8 phone. The phone was expected since a long time and has finally arrived.

It boasts the similar design of its predecessor. This one has improved RAM of 1GB from the 512MB of the Lumia 520. This is the most looked up feature in the phone and was needed to as many apps in the Windows Phone Store are not compatible with 512MB RAM. Other specifications are similar to that of the Lumia 520.

As said it has a 1GB RAM with a dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon S4 processor. It comes with internal storage of 8GB and is expandable to 64GB with microSD card. The camera is not upgraded, and is the same 5 Megapixel and without flash or front facing camera. The battery is 1430 mAh giving about talktime of 17 hours and 336 hours of standby time.

Nexus 5 released

At last most awaited phone of 2013 Nexus 5 is here exactly on the expected date of release, 1st November 2013. The smartphone will be the first one to be running on Android 4.4 (Kitkat). After so many rumors the device is finally here with some awesome features and specs.

According to many leaks and rumors the device is standing up with the expectations. Yes, many of those leaks and rumors were true. The device boasts a 4.95-inch display with a resolution of 1902x1080 (Full HD IPS) and with a pixel density of 445 ppi. Screen is of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which is very thin, resulting in a thinner phone. Design of the phone is matching to its predecessor Nexus 4 with a better built.


Now coming to the processor, it has Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (quad-core) clocked at 2.26GHz with 2 GB of RAM for multitasking and smooth performance. It is equipped with Adreno 330 GPU at 540MHz for smooth gaming and video. It comes with 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 with NFC (Android Beam). The battery is a 2300 mAh one with talk time upto 17 hours as promised by Google.

The camera has no improved specifications but has improved in performance with 8 Megapixel rear facing camera with Optical Image Stabilizer and 1.3 Megapixel front facing camera for video chat. There are features like HDR+ by taking burst shots and combining them to for better photos also has a feature called Photo Sphere which creates impressive 360° view photograph. As expected it has the usual Wireless charging feature and uses a Micro-SIM card.

It is available in major international countries and will be soon available in other countries. The 16GB model costs $349 and the 32GB model costs $399 in international Play Store. Yes, it comes in these two variations only with black and white colors to choose from. Being a bit higher at price from the predecessor the phone boasts awesome specifications. The device is showing Coming Soon in Indian Play Store with the price tag of Rs. 28,999 for 16GB model and Rs. 32,999 for 32GB model.

BBM for Android and iOS Officially available

Smartphone company Blacberry relaunched their Blackberry Messenger or BBM after the launch was delayed a month ago due to some issues. They released the BBM in a phased manner then. The app was launched for iOS and Android on Monday and was download 5 million times within 8 hours which was announced in a twitter post.


To install BBM you can directly go to their website www.bbm.com or you go to respective stores for Android go to Google Play and for iOS(iPhone) you can go to iTunes and download it.

When you install the app it asks you for email address and then after few days Blackberry will contact you for approval of the account to start messaging. This doesn't apply to those people who have already signed up at BBM.com which were about 6 million, they get to use the facility immediately.

BBM for Android is specified only for devices running Android 4.0 or above and also few devices are not compatible for the app. For iOS it is only available for the iPhone. Blackberry is yet to release the app for Windows and other Apple products.

Lava launched its 7-inch Lava Ivory Tablet

The Indian smartphone company recently announced the release of their new Tablet in their e-tab series. It is the E-Tab Ivory Tablet with 7-inch screen. The tablet is available across the country at the price tag of Rs. 10,199.


As stated it has a 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels and equipped with a dual-core MediaTek processor running at 1.2GHz. It has a RAM of 1GB and has Powervr SGX531 GPU for an awesome gaming and video experience. The gadget comes with the internal memory of 4GB. As usual as in a tablet Ivory Tablet has WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. The device also supports 3G calling and has dual-sim slots for calling.

The camera equipped in the device is of very low quality, that is a rear camera of 2 Megapixels and a front VGA camera for video calling.  It has a good 3000mAh Li ion battery. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jellybean) OS and comes with pre-installed apps like WhatsApp, OLX, Facebook, Gmail, Twitter and games like NFS HD and Total Recall HD.The device is 10.8mm thick and it has a Silver color metallic finish with a white Bezel.

The device is not recommended by us as there are other tablets in market at this price range which are much better. If you want a dual-sim tablet then its a go for you.

Google announced their new Chromebook

There were set rumors for the announcement of new Chromebook by Google. They finally announced it on Tuesday.



Google announced it this morning in an even the new laptop in the series which is the HP Chromebook 11. It is launched at the cheapest price than any other in the Chromebook series at the cost of $279 on the official website. As the name suggests it has an 11-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixel with IPS display panel with 176 viewing angle. It runs on the Samsung's dual core Exynos processor which is usually used in smartphones. They are also giving 100GB of free Google Drive storage for 2 years with the device with this they give 60-day trial to use whole of the Google Play Music All Access.

The design of the device is quite attractive. It has a magnesium chassis built for a strong built and has no visible screws,vents or speakers which makes it look cleaner. It has a small built, weighs about 1.04kg and is 0.69 inches thin. It is available in 6 different colors including black and white.


It comes equipped with 2GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB SSD. They promise a battery backup of about 6 hours. As promised the device can boot up within 10 seconds. It also has the new Bluetooth 4.0 with WiFi at dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n equipped in it. The device can be charged via the normal Micros USB which is used by other Smartphones. It has a combined headphone/microphone jack which is again used by other Smartphones but for a laptop its a bit disappointing. It comes with two USB 2.0 port.

Google is yet to announce the price for 3G and 4G/LTE model. It will be having a Micro-SIM slot for the function.
